A rather outstanding movie, away from the modern times, bringing the audiences back to the 16th century where Spain being the strongest and most powerful country in Europe ruled by a devoted Catholic King declare war on England ruled by a Protestant Queen.

She was strong and wise but even the strongest person will still feel fear when the future seems uncertain. Its a nice change from the usual action or sexual laden movies, but it might not be the cup of tea for everyone. Also, i love those dresses that Cate Blanchett (Queen Elizabeth) wears in the movie. Vintage, elegant and really classy.

Me and my bf were driving to Box Hill today when we saw this car right in front of us. It was really interesting so I took a pic and decided to blog it out. Kevin Andrews is the Minister for Immigration and Citizenship and the Federal Member for Menzies in the Australian House of Representatives. You can go to his website http://www.kevinandrews.au.com/
to find out more. I think probably its because of the recent PM elections that there are so many of these things going on.

Anyway, Kevin Rudd is now the new PM of Australia. So, its time to say goodbye to John Howard.

After 2 weeks of hols, I finally got to see my friends and classmates in melb. This sem, our timetable was crap and i don't get to go to the same session with some of my friends whom I got to know better last sem. I suggested to meet up this Friday for dinner since we didn't get to spend anytime together during the hols.
Eison suggested to have steamboat at his place. Check out that pot of kimchi soup and all those food on the table. Yummy!!

We clean out almost everything and I think all of you can see from the empty plates below. We chit chat for quite sometime before bidding our farewell to return home.

Here are more pics from my Daylesford trip. This is the lake that was behind the apartment that we rented. Nice and calm.

Some of the cottages and apartments available for rent. It s really quiet place to relax, take sometime off to read a book or just doze off by the lake.

We took this photo early next morning after our breakfast. The geese were all sitting around bathing in the sun.

This was really cute. Look carefully and you will see these 2 little ducklings swimming along with the mother duck. They were so small and so adorable.

This fellow was so funny. It flew up onto our balcony and kept staring at us through the glass door and nothing we do could chase it away. It got sick eventually and just flew off to the lake again.

The other day I was watching this talk show and one of the topic they were talking about was: Is chivalry dead? So, what the producer did was they get a guy to go out onto the street and try to do things like holding the door for others, helping those carrying heavy bags or maybe helping them get a cab. Turns out, people get shock and some even reject such polite actions. It just reflects that our society has come to a point whereby even when stranger do show some kind acts, we will still be wary of their behaviors having second thoughts on whether if they have another agenda on their mind.

Reason why i wanted to blog this out was because it has been raining cats and dogs today. I didn't want to walk home in this weather so i waited for the tram at the tram stop. While waiting, an Indian lady walk towards the stop and stood next to me. Both of us were waiting for trams and it was raining quite heavily. She doesnt have an umbrella so i offered to share mine with her. She thank me and it just occur to me if this were to happen back home, i doubt anyone will be willing to share their umbrella with me if i was the one without the shelter.

I wonder, when did we stop doing all these acts of kindness? Was it when we found out that this is a dog-eat-dog world where looking after oneself is more important or was it when we heard so much stories and news about cheats and frauds that we no longer know who we can trust? What say you?

Several months back we have made plans to celebrate my birthday at Daylesford. This place is famous for their spa, massages and treatments and I really want to visit this little town. The morning didn't start out too well because it was raining and the weather forecast actually predicted thunderstorm. Luckily, as we drove out of the city the weather began to clear and things start to look much better. After arriving at Daylesford, we went to the visitors centre to check out what are some of the places of interests we can visit before getting our keys to the rented apartment.

After a really nice lunch, we headed towards a chocolate mill where they made they own chocolate and their products are only sold in this little factory. When you step inside the little mill, the smell of chocolate will enveloped all your senses! I'm a choc fan, so i couldnt resist buying some really nice looking and delicious chocolates as souvenirs which i think everyone can guess they all ended inside my tummy now. hehe..

Outside the mill, there is also a hot choc cafe where they serve chocolate drinks and food. We were too full from our lunch so we didn't sample their drinks.

Next, we headed towards the Sunday market which was somewhat like a flea market. There were stores that sell clothes, accessories, food, organic soap etc. There is even an old train station where you can catch a train for a historical ride.

After visiting the market, we then went to the Wombat Hill Botanic Garden. I forgot to take some pics cause was busy admiring the trees and greenery. By then, it was about time to collect our keys to the apartment. It was a nice little place situated next to a lake which actually is kinda romantic in the evening if there are not as much flies!

Next morning, i made some pancakes and we had a real yummy breakfast that consist of bread, cereal, ham, juice, cookies and tea by the lakeside. If only I could do this everyday....

My 'last' bday celebration in Singp before I head back to Melb. Went out for lunch with SZ at Fish and Co. yesterday at The Wheelock. The 2 of us were not feeling so well, infact we both had running nose. After lunch, it was shopping time cause SZ wanna buy some pants. Afternoon tea was at this Deluxe Bakerzinn. I just love their cakes. I had Mango Mousse and SZ had Strawberry Shortcake. I was actually amazed by their teapot. You see the reflective dome shape metal that wrap around the teapot actually allow droplets of tea that usually will drop onto the table after you have pour the tea into the cup, to flow back down into the metal dome itself. Not sure if i make any sense but you gotta see it to understand.

Thanks dear, for this really nice necklace. I have known you for so so long and I'm glad you are always there for me. Stay happy and blessed always.

Time flies and this 2 weeks have passed so much faster than I expected. Seeing my family and friends again only remind me how much I miss them and The importance of these people in my life. I think i'm really fortunate to know these 3 girls in my first full time job after i graduated from Uni. I have learned so much from them and truly enjoyed this friendship. AY and Bec bought me and Lu each a bday cake and we had our very own celebration at Suntec Starbucks after dinner yesterday.

This bday was so much different from the one the year before where we were celebrating it in Wala. Though it was much quieter, but i think it gave us plenty of chance of catch up, gossip and bitch. hahaha.. I'm going to miss all of you so much!!!

These are some of the pics that we took last week during our reunion 5 months after i left Singp. Thanks to Dennis aka Creative Designer for this special one where he added some final touch to our group pics.

Stay pretty, healthy and happy always k. I'll be back next year!!

These are some of the presents that i had received for my coming bday. I could still remember so clearly my bday celebration in wala with the girls last year that it felt like it was yesterday. Nevertheless, one whole year has passed and hope for many more happy times to come in the future. Thanks AY and Bec, for this really lovely diary and all the effort for getting me and lu bday cake.

Butterfly!! My fav. Thanks lu for the CD and the very unique earring. hehe.. i think i'll jus wear it even if there's only one.

Thanks to my dearest Jun, who know that I'm a mango freak and i have been missing this fruit so much in Melb cause they only have it during summer. Its my year of supply when i don't get to eat the real fruit.

These presents remind me of how lucky i am to have all these friends. Thank you so much and I love them all!!

I have never eaten so much in a day!! Met up with A having the thoughts that we will be having a farewell lunch but turn out to be a feasting day. We went to the Crystal Jade Ginseng Chicken BBQ at Taka for a really sumptuous lunch. There were beef and chicken for bbq purpose and also a rather large bowl of seafood kimchi soup. We left the place with our stomach filled to the brim. After such a heavy lunch, we walk around Taka and decided to head over to Cine to see what are the movies available. There wasn't really much to our liking so we decided on seeing the new movie by Tom Cruise, Lions for Lambs.

There was still sometime to kill before the movie begin. So A decided to re-kinder with his childhood, playing the arcade. It was so funny, cause i think the 2 of us will be the oldest inside the arcade itself. After using up all his token, we went for another round of makan again. This time, just tea and pineapple bun at a hong kong style cafe on level 2 in cine.

I didn't really know what this movie was all about before i sat in front of the big screen. Well, my reviews for this show would just be average. Though it talks about some of the most sensitive political power struggle in the US today, and i gotta say it was really quite well portrayed, the ending was too abrupt leaving the audience hanging there by a thread.

After the movie, I met up with Jun. And dinner (food!!) was Teppenyaki. There's a new Sakae teppenyaki open at Cine and the food it quite ok. But i enjoy the part seeing the chef cooking the chawamushi right in front of you. After dinner drinks was at NYDC, with me chilling out with a cool mug of french vanilla earl grey. I gotta double my effort working out at the gym today man!!! But nothing beats eating yummy food and spending sometime with Jun.

I had one of the most delicious lunch today. I have been craving for the food from this India restaurant in Racecourse road while i was in Melb. So, my dad decided to bring me there today. Its been a long time since me and my parents could sit down together and enjoy a nice meal. This is also one of my dad's fav restaurant and he and my mum has been patronising this place way back to when they were still dating.

I just love all the curries there. Yummy!! But its also very sinful. It's really great to spend time with my family whom i really really miss while i was in Melb.

Meeting up with good old friends
Friday 9 November 2007

After 5 whole months in Melbourne, I'm finally back home to see my family and friends. Met up with SZ for lunch yesterday afternoon. I've known this woman since my first day in sec school and things couldnt have been better for the 2 of us now.

I was craving for some chawamushi, so we head down to Sushi Teh in pargon. Was starving by the time the food arrive. It's always good to be eating great food and catching up with some old friends. I made a lot of new friends while i was in Melb, but i miss all my old friend here even more..

After a really nice lunch, we started to shop around Wisma and Taka. We step into Sasa with me having the intention of getting some nail polish. But i left the shop with nail polish and some artificial nails. I have nv try putting these on so i was kinda excited when i tried them on. I got to admit, the long nails really get into the way especially when you need to do things with your finger tips. But i was really fun and pretty, hehe...

After bidding good bye with SZ and Roy, I went to Holland V to meet up with 'The Club' It was really nice to see them again, catching up on gossips, our personal life and so many more. With all the chatting and talking, I only manage to reach home at 3am. Though feeling really tired, I was really happy and glad.
