It's Boxing Day today = shopping time! Don;t ask me why its call boxing day cause i have not idea. But, the most important thing is that all retail, shops and mall are having huge discounts and its really like at least 50% off the normal retail. Me and dar set out at 7am thinking that we will beat the crowd. But unfortunately, there were already people shopping and carrying handful of shopping bags by the time we even arrived at the mall.
We saw this shop and dar was making fun of its name. He say no wonder there isnt anyone in the shop cause its call 'Mati' (die in malay). Seems like his crappy mood is back.

Although i did see some stuff that i fancy, the sizes were usually too big. And the worse thing is i can never get bottom or shorts here cause they are all too big unless i buy one from the children's department which i eventually did. Signz....
Anyway, i only bought 3 t-shirts, 1 camisole and a pair of earrings. I also bought a polo t for my dad which ended up being more ex then all of my stuff adding up together. I'm so excited about my trip tomorrow. I won't be updating my blog till i'm home so pls do wait patiently for any new updates.

Oh, and bec i took the pic below for you. hehe...

Christmas is about spending time with your loved ones and your families. Since i'm not in S'pore, i spent the Christmas day with my bf's aunties and their families. The house was enveloped with the aroma of food when we arrived. What really caught my eye when i enter the kitchen was this huge ham. One of his aunt made it (if only i know how to make one). Check out those cute little cloves sticking out from the ham.

And the feast began!! Everything taste so good, especially the mango salad!! Well, because i love mango and it was just so sweet and yummy!!

After dinner, we sat around and watch this really funny Christmas comedy on tv (all the tv stations have been showing Christmas related program since early morning). Then it was time for presents. One of his uncle acted as Santa Claus giving out the pressies. He even stuff a small pillow into his t-shirt. hahahha... we hang around for some desserts and fruits and head back home. It was a really warm and lovely evening.

It's Christmas!! We are having a 2 weeks hol from this week till the 7th of Jan. So, the whole lot of us decided to meet up for dinner and some out of the classroom catching up since we don't get to see the other session friends that much during the sem.

We saw this house when we arrived at the Italian restaurant in Camberwell. In Melb, there are some houses where the law prohibits you from tearing down the front of the house when you reno because they want to preserve the old architecture design. So, what most owner did was to tear everything down from the back and rebuild the whole thing but with only the front staying the same. Its actually quite funny cause the house would look really modern from the back but the front would look like something from the 1800s.

Most of us were already starving by the time we got seated. So ordering was done immediately and food came real fast as well. Has anyone seen pasta serve in this kinda of size before?? We ordered 3 different types of pasta and seriously, this pic don't even do the real thing justice. I have never seen so much pasta on a single plate. And we have 12 person on the table and the amount was enough to serve everyone and some like me still can get a second serving. And it taste great!

No time for photos of other food cause everyone was gobbling down the food. This ice cream dessert was the first one to arrive. This is like the tallest ice cream i ever see. And they practically give you every single flavour they have in the restaurant. By now, most of us were already quite full from the heavy dinner.

Me and dar waiting for our dessert to arrived. I feel i look kinda weird in this pic.

I ordered banana crepe for dessert. If their main course were already of those proportion, how could their dessert be of anything smaller. Check out the crepe and that pile of vanilla ice cream next to it. But, the dessert was not as nice as the main courses and the sugar syrup actually taste like cough syrup. Yuck!!

Dinner was really cheap and seriously i think this is the only time that i ever say anything is cheap in Melb. Each one of us only paid AU$15 and we had pastas, pizza, veal, salads, seafood platter and desserts. I'm definitely going back to this place! Oh, and thanks to duke who intro this place to us.

I'm going on a trip this Thursday and i'm so looking forward to it. Stay tuned for pics and update!

I know I have not been updating my blog recently because seriously there hasn't been much going on this whole week. Unless anyone is interested in hearing all about my research and assignments, which i highly doubt so, therefore I spare all my readers the agony. hahahahha..

Anyway, its my dar's birthday today and I made him a birthday cake!! This is the first time i ever make a birthday cake for someone and it feels good. Though it might not look and taste as good as those sold in the stores, but i think its really the thought that counts.

And i wanted to post this pic last week but didn't get around to do so. Was at the market buying groceries when i came across this. Usually, you don't get to see this kinda activities around the market so i just wonder what's the occasion.

This is a new movie released in aussie and i caught it this afternoon. I think just by looking at the movie title and poster you probably would have guess what's its all about. Of course, there is the usual dose of action-packed shotting and fighting scenes. What i'm really 'amazed' was the fact that this lead actor who was suppose to be an assassin, wasn't even shoot once throughout the whole movie. So u see he is either really lucky or maybe the movie wasn't that realistic.

Nevertheless, what i like about the movie was the fact that there really no sex scene. Keep it simple with the pure care and concern. But i wouldn't paid for a weekend price to watch this movie.

Summer is here!! Check out all these leaves on the trees. Temperature are rising up to the 30's and beyond and the heat here is much more unbearable then back home because of the dryness. It feels like you are constantly being bake in the oven. This is only the beginning of summer because i know the worse has yet to come.

While me and bf were on our way out for dinner, we saw this little bird trapped between a door and this piece of glass. There was actually an opening on top but the bird just couldn't fly upwards to get out. The shop was closed so there's no way someone from the inside could open the door to let the bird out. Poor little thing, still trying to figure out where is the way out and i couldn't do anything to help it. I felt so bad.....

Friday 7 December 2007

This is my first attempt on making a cheese cake. And it brought back so much memories when the girls were at my place baking muffins and making cheesecake before i came to melb. I really miss those days. We really must do it again when i'm back.

This pic was taken right after the cake was out from the fridge. I just love the way how smooth the surface looks that i dun wan to put a knife through it.

But i can't wait to eat it, so you see a large slice gone!!! Oh, and it taste even better with fresh fruits like mango or strawberries. But, its not perfect. Like i could do with less butter for the biscuit base and more gelatine for it to be just slightly more solidify.

I really really hate FLIES!!! I don't understand where they are coming from and why are there so many flies wherever you go. I know its summer now and the weather is warm and nice, so all the insects and bugs starts coming alive. But seriously, where do all these flies come from. Wherever you go, there are bound to be like 4-5 of them flying all over you. Settling down on your face, your clothes, your hair......
The most amazing thing is that everyone and i really mean everyone is being harass by them. I don't know how the aussies got used to it???!!!
