Qiqi is turning 4 months
Thursday, 25 March 2010

Qiqi will be 4 months old tomorrow. Its a joy to watch her grow everyday, learning new things along the way. These are just some of her recent achievements:

- she has finally learn to roll over!! always happy to see her lift her head up high while lying obn her stomach to look at us.

-she is grabbing anything within her reach and putting them into her mouth. though i think its more because she is curious about all these around her rather than because of teething issues.

- she had her first swim when she was 3.5 months old.

- loves putting her hand into her mouth and licking and sucking it like its the tastiest thing she ever 'eaten'

-can recognize me in a crowd of people.

These are just some recent photos of her. Enjoy!

A very rude and un-gentleman guy
Thursday, 18 March 2010

Yesterday, i went out for lunch with a group of colleagues. We decided to go to 313 Somerset's food court since its new and there are quite a few stalls that we wanted to try out.

Like any other food court, it was crowded with many working class adults. 2 of my colleagues spotted 2 tables - one being the patrons were about to finish their f&b and the other has already finished and were sitting there chit chatting. So the people from the first table eventually finish and left so 4 of us took the table. Because it was a small table, we couldn't squeeze in another 2 of my colleagues and besides there were no extra chair available. So, thinking that the people from the table will be leaving soon (since they have already finished eating) and in order to save time, some of us went ahead to get our food.

By the time i return with my food, those people were still occupying the table even though the cleaners have already clear away their plates and glasses. My poor colleague has been standing next to their table for at least 15 mins and they know that we are actually waiting for them to leave. These people (2 guys and a woman) have already finished eating since we arrived at the food court and all they did was sit there and chit chat when they know there are loads of people waiting just to get a seat. Eventually, I couldn't take it anymore and decided to approach them. The following conversation took place.

Me: Excuse me, may i know if you are still having your lunch? If not, is it ok if you can let us have this table. (I ask them very very very nicely)

One of the Guy: No. If you want a seat, you can go to a restuarant. And you are being rude.

Me: Oh, i'm being rude. Then you are being very inconsiderate! Can't you see that there is a lot of people waiting to get a seat! And it is because of people like you that Singapore will never be a gracious society. (i said it loud enough for everyone within audible distance to turn around and look)

And with that i walk back to my table and eat my lunch. Although i did not get these inconsiderate people to move their a*s away, i managed to make them really paiseh cause people were looking at them. They sat there for another minute and left eventually.

When we got back to the office, my colleagues were telling others what happen and some of them couldn't believe it was a guy who actually said those things and commented that he was very un-gentleman. But to me, it doesn't matter whether its a guy or a lady but its how inconsiderate and selfish these people are that really make me start to ponder on the morale and ethical standards that we uphold in our society today.

Qiqi's first swim
Monday, 15 March 2010

Brought my little princess to the baby spa for her first swim on Sat. One of the aunties at the spa centre getting her ready for her swim. The blue diaper she is wearing is actually waterproof, so even if she poo or pee while swimming, she wouldn't dirty the water.

See my fat fat princess doing her streaching before hitting the water.

The first 5 mintues in the water, she pretty much float there and didn't do much kicking cause the whole experience was so new to her. After she got accustomed to the environment, she just kick non-stop!! Having so much fun.

After 15 mins, its time for her to get up. Mainly because she's still new to this so its not too good to let her stay in the water too long and well, she's very tired after all that kicking.

Although it was a good experience, i find it rather expensive as we paid $30 just for a 15 mins swim. Anyway, dar bought a similar inflatable 'pool' for her so she can swim at home. Can't wait for it to arrive!!

Alice in Wonderland
Sunday, 7 March 2010

Went to the movies on Sat to catch the latest Johnny Depp show. Alice in Wonderland has always been one of the most popular children's story and it was the theatrical costumes and make up that I saw on the trailer that made me want to catch it when its screening.

Movie was not as good as I expected. Its actually not the story about Alice that we read about when we were kids. Rather, its more like a squeal where Alice actually returns back to Underland (only Alice calls it Wonderland) and that the previous time when she visted was not a dream, like we read in the original story, but an event that really took place.
Was expecting more from Johnny Depp cause everything was his usual quirky performances.
Don't highly recommend it.

Work
Wednesday, 3 March 2010

This is my last week of maternity leave. I'm seriously not looking forward to going back to work. In fact, i'm surfing around the net at the different recruitment websites and I have started sending out my resume.

Initially, I wanted to wait till I return back to work next week and do a reassessment to see if I should move on to another company. Afterall, my boss did told me that my job scope will be different when I return. I might even report to someone else within the marketing dept as that was what i was suppose to do right in the beginning when i joined the company.

Unfortunately, a CNY gathering with my colleagues last sat really left me totally disappointed with my company. Hai, always the same old shit. Nothing will ever change.

Updates
Wednesday, 24 February 2010

Been a zillion years since i last update my blog. Not sure if I still want to continue blogging.
Anyhow, my maternity leave is coming to an end soon. Really don't look forward to going back to work. If there are still no changes to my job scope, i think its time for me to move on.

Dar suggested for the 2 of us to go on a short trip before my leave ends and also for the both of us to relax and recharge. So, we decided to give Club Med Bintan a try since there has been lots of good review.

We received a very warm welcome from the staff or rather the G.Os (Gentle Organiser). After we have check-in, its time to check out our room.

Because it was the monsoon season, the current and wind were very strong and sea activities were prohibited. Though some guests still ignore these warnings and true enough, one of the guests got caught in the rip current and the life guards have to risk their life to bring him back to shore.

Since the sea was out of reach, the pool became a hotspot for many guests. Really popular with the children.

We also saw some monkeys within the resort compound.

The fees that we paid for has already include all f&b and accomodation. Its all buffet style and you can drink anything you like. Basically, you can eat and drink all day long.

A pic we took together before we left after our 3D2N stay.

The G.Os and the village chief sending us off. All in all, it was a relaxing stay though I miss my Qiqi very much. Especially when the resort was so family friendly.

Qiqi will be approaching her 3 months mark this Friday. Nothing can be compare to the joy and happiness I get when i see her grow everyday.
She love to watch the tv. She love it when you chit chat with her and she will even ans you with her ee, ah, oo... hahahaha..
When she wakes up in the morning, she smiles a lot!
I really hate for my leave to end.. Hai...

Qiqi's maiden outing
Friday, 22 January 2010

Qiqi went on her first shopping trip today. We set out for Vivo at about 10+ this morning. It was raining cats and dogs but it didn't dampen my mood. Qiqi was very curious throughout the entire trip, busy looking here and there.
See, she's enjoying the ever changing scenery while enjoying her ride in the car.

We had lunch at Marche. Mum carried her and started 'introducing' each of the different stalls to her. Am glad that she was not frighten by the whole outing experience. Also gives me more confidence to bring her out more often in the future.
